I got tattoos

Four of ’em. They’re tiny little dots so that they can line me up for radiation. My first session was yesterday, and I’ve got 32 more – Mon-Fri for six weeks, except for holidays. If all goes well, my last one will be July 8th. I’ve got a bag of lotions and creams and ointments that I need to slather all over my left chest and neck multiple times a day, so instead of Hot Girl Summer, I’ll be doing Slug Summer. Hot Slug Summer?

Before I started my new chemo regimen, Jordan and I went to Kauai for a weekend, where we went on a doors off helicopter tour (his idea, which I reluctantly went along with cuz it was big scary for me) and it was terrifying but so amazing. We also had amazing food and saw monk seals and turtles and rare birds and beautiful beaches. Pretty dope.

I also decided to foster cats through the local SPCA, and they gave me a mama and her four 4-week-old babies. So cute, so fun, so distracting, so scratchy. We all had the best time hanging with and laughing at the bozos as they learned how to jump and climb and eat. My favorite one was the best climber and she always ended up on my shoulder.

I had to give them back a few days ago, but Jenni and Rich decided to keep the mama cat because she’s basically one of their previous cats, reincarnated. Her given name was Suki, but Rich started calling her Chucky Sukiyaki so now that’s her full name. She’s super chatty and friendly and from day one she acted like she had always lived here…and now she does!

Anyway, the first round of the new chemo was fine. Had my second infusion a couple days ago, and hoping that the side effects stay manageable. I was able to start exercising again! Welp, it’s lotion time again. Slug ya later!
