Between two chemos

Finally saw my oncologist again yesterday morning. Highlights: no bone mets! And my organs look good! A couple smallish things popped, but my oncologist said they’re common and “nothing that looks concerning for cancer” – still have some due diligence checks to monitor and investigate, because of course. We love tests and scans! (I legit started writing this and was interrupted by two separate scheduling calls.) But even with the trouble node, I’m still considered stage 1B, and the residual cancer plan stays the same. I’m starting new chemo (T-DXd, aka Enhertu) in 11 days. Aiming for 14 rounds of it, every three weeks, which is *dun dun DUN* nine months! Closer to ten if you count side effects. So fun.

Also going to start radiation soon – my consult is in 12 days, literally at Jordan’s work, with the radiation oncologist he recommended. My long con of dating a radiation oncology physicist is FINALLY paying off. (joke!) (it’s been paying off all long!)

Been enjoying this non-anemic, post and pre-chemo, mostly-surgery-recovered body time by going on neighborhood walks, having pizza parties with nephews, eating shocking amounts of chocolate covered gummy bears, and dusting off my piano for the first time in over a year. I even did my taxes on time! Energy, man. It’s wild stuff.
