Live from chemo 5!

The last week has been great – Maggie Dolly was visiting, and my nausea went away and I got to eat everything again, which all helped my energy and mood immensely. Even went on a (very very slow) hike with Jordan on Sunday. During one break, he said my pulse was at 180…but we made it to the top! Ended up 4 pounds down at my appointment yesterday; my oncologist told me to have a good dinner, so I had TWO dinners.

In good news land, I had a check up ultrasound yesterday where the tech had me on the table for an hour and ultimately took three rounds of pictures because she was having such a hard time finding the areas, despite them all having clips. The results were that the previously biopsied masses are “no longer seen”. This doesn’t guarantee that all the cancer is gone, but it is a really great sign that the chemo is working and that I might be able to just get a lumpectomy! …but no guarantees.

In less fun news, my 16-year-old cat has advanced kidney disease and these are her prescriptions. We’ve been giving her subcutaneous fluids every day along with other meds. She’s already in better shape than she was a week ago, but the terms “quality of life” and “end stage” have been thrown around. We’ll see how much more time we have with her.

These are the things I’m currently taking – the rest are chilling in my drug basket until they have to be added to the rotation. My cat and I are actually taking two of the same drugs (famotidine and gabapentin) and I’m receiving iv fluids of my own right now. Jacky said we’re like ET and Elliott. Too funny.

Cat tax.

So glad to hear your good news! I hope it is a sign of even better things to come. But sorry to hear about your cat. That’s no fun at all.

Love to hear from you. Sad to hear about your kitty, that really sucks. Just keep loving on her.

    I’m glad you had 2 dinners-sounds like a cruise!

Glad to hear that the chemo seems to be working and that you’ve been able to enjoy some food again.

Really sad to hear about Little Girl, she’s the best cat ever.

Not her time quite yet…we’re still working through the antibiotic and other meds, but she’s been doing really well! She’s happily purring on me right now.

That’s a huge relief! Give her some cuddles for me.

Hey, I heard what happened on Discord. Out of all the women I hear about and the ones I worked with in the past, no one knows the absolute pain – only you. I’ve seen fighters, and I’ve seen warriors. But I believe you became beyond both. You got the heart of a gladiator and that makes two of us. I battled the worst case of autism spectrum as far back as 1985 and finally beated that in 2001. It’s a little more manageable to me now compared to before. A little bothersome but not really if I can help it! So if I can beat that, I know you can beat this and deep inside your heart, you know you can. It’s not much, it’s coming off my Twitch account because I don’t have any money up-front and I am usually more proactive on KICK anyway. But through your Discord, I found your old Twitch channel. And this Valentine’s holiday, I went there and dropped a handful of whatever love I have right now (3000 bits), until I find some more love to carry since Valentine’s has been quite harsh for me – being single for the 44th year of my life in a row, anyhow! This may look like it’s coming from me, but not at a time like this. Many e-sports communities sent me here. Tetris, Dr. Mario, MECC Munchers (coming soon) and some of the other gaming communities I work with – and the dedication and passion to e-sports that these communities provide to their players, their fans, their friends, their families, the ones we loved, the ones we miss dearly, the ones we drink shots of whiskey to, and anybody else I might have forgot – you know, all that is what inspired you, me, all of us, to keep driving. To keep fighting, keep putting on a great show, to keep making memories for future generations to treasure. It defies who we are, hands-down. One last thing I want to share with you. This is for everyone you know and everyone I know (including the internet obviously, because they see this, too, but anyhow). It’s a little inspiration I learned from listening to the late Casey Kasem: Until we meet again, even on the flippity flip – no matter what life throws at you, keep going. Keep your head high, keep aiming for the stars in the sky, have fun out there, yo! Ehh-heh! LYMYMI always, $teve ($.@.K.)
