ALL THE FOOD (and surgery news)

We went to California and I did it. I ate all the food. At least three, sometimes 6 meals a day. And snacks. And desserts.

And had amazing times with family and friends, and got to show Jordan some of my favorite people and places, and ate things the whole time. Del Taco! Celebration cake! Spaghetti grilled cheese sandwiches! So many burritos!

I also had my first two alcoholic beverages in months. One was fun, and one was strategic – had it during a hockey game to trigger my hot flashes because I was cold…and it totally worked! Jordan said I biohacked myself.

It was an amazing, rejuvenating, exhausting trip, and if I got to see you, I’m so so glad.

Got back to my cat who is still hanging in there, albeit less firmly than before, and an appointment with my surgeon on Monday. She said I had a “really good” response to chemo, and as a result she thinks trying a lumpectomy is “very reasonable.” Surgery is scheduled for the 25th, so I figure the next three weeks are still kind of a gray area in terms of what I consume. They recommend a healthy diet to help with recurrence, but I’m still in my ‘currence, right?
